Bowling highlights:
Maheshwar Jayaraman 4/31, Saurabh Verma 4/25
Man of the match:
Maheshwar Jayaraman from Microsoft Greens | | Other notables
• Greens had a brisk start with Parab playing strokes all around the park but two quick wickets within span of 6 runs restricted Greens to 33/2.
• Arun and Saurabh had a 33 runs partnership with Saurabh scoring a couple of boundaries, but it ended with Saurabh getting out to a ball that came slow off the pitch.
• With the fall of Arun’s and then Chenchu’s wicket after break, Greens were 95/7 and ARCC were poised well to get Greens all out.
• However that was not the case to be as Harish and Abhijeet took charge of the situation to rescued Greens along with useful contributions from Mahesh and Prithvish. Together they added 57 runs on the board to set the target as 153.
• Mahesh and Arun started the bowling attack for Greens with Arun striking the first blow dismissing Sanjeev, caught behind by Parab.
• After that it was Mahesh all the way who bowled an amazing spell to run through the ARCC top order as they looked quite meek at 5/31.
• However Imran Rafiq of ARCC led the battle for ARCC and was scoring consistently.
• For Greens, Saurabh continued onslaught and scalped 4 wickets to end their batting with consistent bowling from Harish and Prithvish at the other end.
• Overall it was a total team effort by the Greens. Fielding Highlights : Chenchuram Mannam 3 catches. |

Batting highlights:

Bowling highlights:
Mark Demos (8-0-39-3) Nandesh Guru (8-0-41-3) | | Lake Washington Eagles: 122 for 10 in 34.2 overs
Batting highlights:
Shital Mehta 26(26), Nitin Panchal 25 (43)
Bowling highlights:
Samarth Shah[jMOM] (8-3-26-5) Thomas Varghese (6-2-17-2)
Man of the match:
Srikanth Sundaragopalan & Samarth Shah from Microsoft Blues | | Other notables
• On an amazing day for cricket, MS-Blues won the toss and elected to bat. Srikanth and Ashwin opened for the Blues as Anjum and Viraj took the new cherry for Eagles.
• MS-Blues had brisk start due to the wayward bowling of Eagles and Srikanth batting with all the ease. Majority of the runs were extras. Eagles pulled back the scoring with some tight bowling and sent back Ashwin (12[42]) in the 12th over with the score reading 48.
• Avinash and Srikanth stitched together a nice little partnership of 32 runs in 6 over’s. 80/2 in 17.2 overs.
• Kalyan and Srikanth batted sensibly to take Blues to a position to go for an all-out attack 124/2 in 29 over’s.
• Srikanth made a classy half century and was out to a superb catch in the outfield by Rajesh. The lower middle order joined hands to score more than 100 runs in the last 10 over’s. The highlight was Thomas’s innings of 23 from just 9 deliveries. It was clean hitting at its best. Blues reached a very competitive total of 231/8.
• Eagles had a tough task and it would have required some really good batting to chase down this total. Digpal and Mark opened the innings to face Puneet and Thomas. Puneet bowled some excellent out swingers squaring the batsman regularly. Thomas on the other end kept nipping the ball back into the batsman.
• Blues struck in the 3rd (Digpal), 8th (Mark) and 10th (Hiral) over to have Eagles reeling at 29/3.
• Nitin looked on playing a long innings but perished to Anoop in the 16th over. Anoop bowled 8 overs on the trot with amazing accuracy.
• There were some cameos from Viraj (18[28]) and Shital (26[26]) but no one was able to play the lanky Samarth who finished with a five-wicket haul.
• In the end, it was a comfortable win for Blues who outplayed the Eagles in every department. |

Rajesh Munshi from Microsoft Reds | | Other notables
• Reds openers played patiently to some good bowling from Southside and scored 57 in 12 overs before two quick wickets.
• Aseem(34) and Vijay(42) steadied the ship with a 37 run partnership before Aseem was caught and the reds had a mini-collapse looking 4 wickets in quick succession. Srikant Vemparala did well to score a fine 27 taking Reds to a respectable 174.
• Southside lost a quick wicket before Kashif and Gurpreet took the score past 45. Both were soon out to a fine runout by Rajiv and another caught behind off Rajivs bowling.
• Rajesh Munshi and Aseem kept things tight before Kamal and Bunty launched a barrage of sixes and kept scoring at 7 an over.
• Things game down to a wire when Southside needed 6 off the last over with two wickets to spare.
• Aseem took on the job of bowling the last over and Arvind swooped in off the second ball to affect a brilliant run out from the deep. A series of dot balls followed with brilliant glove work by Reds keeper Pradeep Pagadala along with surging Reds players led by Aseem made Southside manage only one off the last ball - The Reds winning by a thinnest margin possible.

Match#
09-29-II: Chak De Oregon won by 7 wickets | | David Martin Memorial Field, North Plains, OR | | Toss won by Chak De Oregon and elected to field | | Redmond Colts: 206 for 10 in 37 overs
Batting highlights:
Phani Chitneni 73 (75b, 11x4), Venkata Phani 25 (40b, 2x4)
Bowling highlights:
Mandar Pandit 3/6, Narinder Kumar 3/37, Bhadri Varadarajan 2/25 | | Chak De Oregon: 207 for 3 in 30 overs
Batting highlights:
Tarun Juneja 87 (82b, 10x4,1x6), Varun Juneja 43 (63b,3x4), Vijay Sunderesan 34* (23b, 4x4)
Bowling highlights:
Kshitij Moghe 1/15 | |
Man of the match:
Tarun Juneja from Chak De Oregon | | Other notables
• On a clear, sunny summer day in northwestern Oregon, not far from the world-renowned Pumpkin Ridge Golf Course, Redmond Colts were put into bat by Chak De captain Varun Juneja. Opener Venkat Reddy was soon caught by Bhadri Varadarajan at extra cover when he failed to keep a hard drive down. Phani Chitneni and and Venkata Phani then started to consolidate with hard drives on either side of the wicket. Both were let off before they had reached double figures, and made most of their fortune as well as the largess provided by Chak de bowlers who were bowling an inordinate amount of wide balls, by putting on a 96 runs partnership in 87 balls for the 2nd wicket.
• Venkata fell lbw to a straight one from leg-spinner Narinder Kumar but Phani kept capitalizing on loose deliveries to personally cross 50 and add 51 runs in 49 balls with Kshitij Moghe. At 153/2 in the 25th over, a total in excess of 250 looked a certainty for the Colts, but after Kshitij played on a wide delivery from Tarun Juneja, the Colts’ innings went into the doldrums. Phani was brilliantly caught by Varun at long on, and though ex-Oregon resident Fahad Habib collected 19 runs in well placed shots, the rest of the Colts batting could not negotiate the triumvirate of Chak De spinners, Bhadri, Narinder and Mandar, folding up in the 37th over for 206. The last 8 Colt wickets had fallen for 53 runs, and the total appeared about 25-30 runs short of par.
• Very early in the Chak De innings, an in-form Bhadri Varadarajan was brilliantly caught by Fahad Habib at second slip, diving full length to his right and taking the ball inches off the ground. Tarun Juneja then took charge of the innings, farming most of the strike, cutting and driving his way to a 38 ball fifty, while Varun at the other end mustered only 4 runs in that span. Tarun evoked the memories of Aussie Charlie Bannerman in the First Test Match of all, when he had scored 67% runs of his side’s total at the half-way mark of the Chak de innings.
• The Juneja brothers went on to add 138 runs together in 123 balls. Though he had some flashy cuts over the inner fielding cordon, Tarun’s innings was essentially chanceless, and include a powerfully driven six over the long-off fence. Varun was dropped at short mid-off before he had reached 20, but that was a difficult chance. Tarun’s looming century evaporated to a dodgy call for a sharp single from his brother combined with a swift pick-up and throw from Venkat Reddy. Whatever aspirations the Colts had of precipitation a middle and lower order Chak De collapse, similar to the one in their previous meeting three weeks ago, was doused by lefthander Vijay Sunderesan’s lightening start to his innings, scoring 15 runs in his first 8 balls. Varun eventually fell for a well made 43 but the deficit was not large enough to cause any more worries for the remaining Chak De batsmen. Eventually, the target was reached with 10 overs to spare. |

• Spokane started cautiously and Mustafa Bilal took Raghu with a beautiful outswinger with the total at 6.
• Imran and Sanjay set about building a partnership in the face of excellent bowling by Mustafa Bilal and Talib Sharif. 15 year old youngster Mujtaba Bilal chipped in with an excellent spell of 3 overs showing composure and temparament against established senior batsmen
• Imran and Sanjay scored off loose balls at will and built an 80 run partnership in 79 balls to put the game away before Sanjay was bowled by another excellent outswinger by Mustafa Bilal
• Spokane lost a couple of more wickets before reaching the target easily with Imran staying on to finish the game. |
